It should be noted that when the Ab Coaster was first released it was selling for $499. Just purchased this item for myself. Steroid injections added pounds in the mid area and need to get rid of it. I love this machine but when the times comes, I will add weights for the resistence plus my teenaged sone is requesting the weights.

It took about an hour to assemble by myself, had no problems with instructions. The tool to tighten bolts did not work very well, it seemed to be too large. Thankfully I have some wrenches and other tools, so after assembling I took it for a trial run and have been using it daily in the morning before work and after work, it is great! It takes concentration and focus to make sure you are maintaining the posture you should be. I have had it two weeks and can already feel the difference. It is a bit stiff on the turns to one side, but I think some WD40 should fix that right up.

I purchased the ab coaster at walmart.com since its is free shipping to our local store and they take returns without a hassle.Im a 55 year old guy that tries to stay in shape with a moderate work out every morning.My wife and I used the ab coaster for 1 week and loved the design and how it targets your abs. What i did not like is how poorly the rollers lined up with the rails and the type of material they are made of. One lower roller mounting hole was off a just bit and caused it to stop rotating and wore a bad flat spot, which caused the seat to drag real bad on the way back down. The main rollers with the bearings also where wearing with white nylon dust constantly on the rails that needed to be wiped down. I make motorcycle racing parts for a living, and I consider this a very poor choice of material for these rollers.So just beware that these are goimg to wear out very fast. Like I said we had this machine 1 week and used it about 5 mornings. You guys with 5 stars better take a close look at all the rollers top and bottom. I took it all apart and returned it back to Walmart for a full refund. We are going to try the Ab Flyer next since it has less moving, touching parts. Amozon has a great deal on that one right now at $89.00 with free shipping, and I see it from $199 to $250 on other web sites. If that ones junk we may try the Ab coaster 750 and see if its any better than the 500 model. Ive never written a review but had to warn people about this design flaw since the Coaster is not cheap. I seen the ad on TV and thought oh noooo not another machine to exercise, so my husband research it and decided to get it, so I always look to make sure walmart do not have it before i go anywhere else and luckly YES THEY HAD IT but I had to have it ship from store to Site but that was okay, no S/H. price was GREEEAATTT, put it together, only took maybe 1 hr, fun project with the hubby, easy easy easy to put together, box was not heavy at all and fits in the back seat of my 2003 Alero so you dont need a big truck for this item.
started using it that same day and you can feel the BURRRRNNN IN YOUR ABDOMEN, only did like 20reps and that was more than enough for me, so i get up early in the morning and do 20 and then late at night, hubby push 500reps and he feels the burn too. great product, I will recomend in a minute. I have membership to gym and non of the ab machine equals this product, the females or femenine like machines are worthless, not including the ones where you hang upside down and all that acrobatic madness lol not trying to do all that.
for beginers its great, dont matter how much you weigh, start with 5 reps at a time and then move it up. works the love handles also.

This machine, is not hard to put together, just follow the instructions it is easy!
It WORKS!………..your abdomen, But if you are not in shape, or do not have ab muscles it is hard!….you will start slow but gradually work your way up…….The bottom line is that you will break a sweat, and it will lower the fat around your waist…..But like everything else it is not easy to lose the weight. Anyone that is used to working out, this machine will work for your tummy, but nothing else.

difficult for me to issolate only ab muscles, unconsiously i seem to be using legs and arms, because they seem to be the sorest part of my body the next day, but i will continue to keep plugging along and trying to use proper form. think this is meant more for people who want to stay in shape instead of getting in shape. but i am just one person, with one opinion. do not regret buying it. wish there was a locking mechanism to stop the seat from moving. i have a 2 year year old who is curious of it of course, and have to watch her so she doesn’t hurt herself anf pinch a finger

Heavy duty and heavy for a girl but managable. Im awesome assembling stuff on my own but this one was a bit difficult towards the end but i was eager to try it out. I have seen Montel William’s shows on this equipment and always said that I would like try it. So, I decided to purchase it through Amazon, because I love the customer service and ease of Amazon.

Thank you Wal-Mart for actually offering a product that is great. This As Seen on TV product should be advertised that it is gym quality. This product rocks. Kills your abs the first time you try to do 100 reps. Took me a week to be able to breath and it hurt to sneeze. The guy who said it shouldn’t be used by anyone with even a mild back injury is an idiot. I am a 62 year-old retired Marine who hasn’t been able to work my core muscles in years due to a back injury from a helicopter crash. I bought the Ab Coaster specifically because I have a low back injury that keeps me from doing crunches, sit-ups, scissor kicks, leg lifts or just about any other ab exercise to strengthen my core. I got tired of looking at my profile in the mirror and bought the CS1000 model Ab Coaster. With the Ab Coaster I am able to exercise my abs with absolutely no pain or discomfort to my back, however it is absolutely brutal on the abs. After 3 sets of 20 my abs hurt for two days! It is the most intense ab workout I have ever experienced, and it has only been two weeks but I am already seeing results! You can do the exercises as slowly or as quickly as you want, with no stress or strain on your back at all, so I am wondering is this yo-yo who claims it will hurt your back ever even tried working out on one. I love it! I got the CS1000 model because it is sturdier, and I intend to give it lots of use. I can’t imagine why anyone would not love this machine. Do your abs a favor and buy an Ab Coaster today! We just got it. Althgough we have not see six-pack abs yet, we do feel it after our workouts. It was pretty easy to assemble and appears to be a solid piece of equipment. This product is not bad at all. I’ve had it for about 3 weeks now. And I must admit, I do see results around my waist. To really work though, you have to really dedicate time, and effort along with a healthy diet. Cutting back on sweets, and sugar drinks will show results faster.

I set my abcoaster up in my living room so when I watch TV I can be using the machine. One of the downfalls to this though is the noise of swiping across the track with each crunch. It’s quite loud so you have to crank your TV or music volume to drown it out. Also, they tell you not use your arms to pull yourself but it’s nearly impossible to not use your arms a little bit and you have to make sure your posture is perfect to feel the workout, but when you get it the workout is good. Major note, when you are assembling the machine go slowly and look very closely through the packaging so you don’t throw out the small parts for the digital counter. My husband thought that they had forgotten a part but it was hidden very well so be cautious. Overall, I like the abcoaster. I have started doing that in conjunction to running on my treadmill. Although I am in generally good shape I’m hoping to tighten up a bit before the summer and maybe shed the last tough 10-15lbs.

I have been using this product for 2 weeks and went from a size 10 jeans to a size 6. Only doing it 3-5 times per week for maybe, at the most 15min each time (about 100 reps). Lovin’ this product. We had to tap 2 of the screw hole to put it together, they were stripped. That’s the only thing I didn’t like.

I love this product. It takes a lil bit to get the hang of it but it really works. You can feel the burn right away and is very easy to use. Its not hard on your back or knees or legs. I have had it only a few weeks but have no regrets buying it. I have moved a notch up on my belt already. Its easy to put together, take 2 people but not hard to do. This product like most sold on TV are not anything like what they sell it to be. However, I had already assumed it wouldn’t be as good as advertised and it isn’t. That being said it is a decent product when used correctly, often and with the added weight. I expected to us it more often but when I realized it was a mediocre product I actually use other items to help my ab workout more often. Not a bad product but not at all what the advertisement says. It can be helpful when used as a part of a core workout.

This thing does what it says! I’ve felt strength in my core which helps with posture which helps with my back. It is not as easy to use as the commercial shows. It is a real workout on the Abs. I have just started a workout routine and I can only do 10 reps at a time. It is difficult, but you can definately feel it working. I have 4 months to get ready for bathing suit weather and I know it is going to work.

My boyfriend bought me this machine less than a month ago for my bday. I love this machine so much, i can see and feel the result. I can see that my stomach is flatter (I am not overweight, i just have a stomach area problem). In fact, i get compliments on my look. other ladies in my house wanted to try it too. i also feel soared after each work out (meaning it works). please watch the instruction video before use because it seemed to be hard to use at first. you have to use your abs to move up and down, not your upper body. I recommend this machine to all the ladies, especially.

In another review a lady mentioned not getting a counter and tools and says she was told they weren’t included, however they are. I almost threw them away and didn’t see them until I had fully assembled the unit – so look through the packaging.
This Ab Coaster Pro has the body of a Ab Coaster PS500 but the seat looks more like the one on the PS750 (see abcoasterclub . come for photos). The PS500 has steel roller bars and the PS750 has stainless steel and better rollers so it’s quieter.
Assembly was pretty straightforward without the need to really look at the directions. Be sure to tighten the factory bolts as some of the were not fully tightened.

When i first got this it was easy to put together.
When i first tried it i wasn’t feeling anything and i was disappointed so i looked at the dvd it came with (how to use the Ab coaster) and i was doing it wrong and when i started to do it right i felt it burning right away. I have had this product several months now. It now makes a terrible racket and drags as you do the crunches as the nylon rollers follow the arch.
Assembly was easy enough doing it by myself.
The directions say not to use your arms muscles while performing the excersice. Holding as directed there is no way to not use your arms. The closest I have been able to achieve this is by crossing my wrist to hold the opposite handles. It has helped me in preperation for my Army physical fitness test for situps.
My wife has wanted to send it back several times. Although I’m sure there are less expensive tools to accomplish the same task I will keep this. Especialy since I went through all the trouble to put it together in the first place.

I bought the Ab Coaster hoping to get my tummy back into shape after having a baby. My tailbone was injured during delivery so I can’t do regular sit ups or crunches. I saw it on an infomercial and instantly wanted it because it was exactly what I needed to work out my stomach without having to sit on my tailbone to do it, my husband bought it for me for Christmas and I love it.
You put your knees on the pad and hold onto the handles with your elbows resting on a padded arm rest, and you use your stomach muscles to lift your legs. You control how fast you go and there is a little screen on the front that tells you how many reps you have done. It took me a little while to get the hang of doing them without using my arm muscles to pull me up since I have very weak stomach muscles, and I’m sure I looked hilarious doing it, but after I figured it out it was very simple to do. You can also turn the knee pad sideways in either direction so that you can work out your side muscles. After the first day using it I could definitely feel it in my sore stomach the next day. You can also add weights to bars on the bottom of the seat for more resistance but I am nowhere NEAR that point.
Mine arrived without any broken pieces (like it should) and my husband set it up easily. It’s a good alternative to traditional crunches if you can’t lie on your back.
I would recommend it, but you have to have a designated spot for it because it does not fold up to stow away.

The ab coaster should NOT be used by anyone with low-back issues, even mild, occasional strains. Why? It’s a ballistic exercise. There’s one in my gym. People average doing a repetition every 1 second. Ditto for the TV infomercials. That’s waaaaay too fast and is what puts excessive strain on the discs of the lower spine. I tried it a few times, and it hurt my lower back. If you don’t have back problems, you probably will after using this thing, because those fast reps are really straining your discs. People are better off using an exercise or device that allows slow reps with a pause in the fully-contracted position. Save your money and do proper crunches. And forget about the “burning belly fat” argument. So-called “spot-reduction” is a well-known myth, but there are new and uninformed people entering the market every day looking for solutions. They fall for the same hype.

For the money, this is a good deal. It actually works the abs very well (including the obliques). Of course, you sti/pll need to do Springfie/pnbsp;ld, MO.p some cardio exercise tonbsp; work off the fat. But, the Ab Coaster works as well as crunches in my opinion.

I would recommend watching some youtube videos on proper form because if you aren’t doing them correctly, you are cheating yourself out of a great workout. I can’t stay on this thing longer than a few minutes! A great way to get through your ab workout if you dread the crunches, planks, and ab machines at a gym.

I wasn’t sure if this would be any better than the previous machines I’ve purchased. It has exceeded my expectations! I don’t recomend doing 200 reps the first time you use it as I did. I spent the following day very sore. I didn’t feel like it was working until the next day. I put it together myself and it probably took about 20 min. One of the dvd’s that come with it seems a little cheesy but the other one is good. It seems to be a very sturdy and it runs on the track with no problems. I love it!

Working out itsn’t easy for me, as a single mom fulltime student and a part time employee, time is a gift. I also have a bad back, it really hurts to do sit ups and what not, but this NOW THIS, is AMAZING. it puts minimal pressure on your back and the machine ounts the reps for you and the instructions are idiot proof. and just wow wow wo I love this product. it was totally worth the moeny i spent. My whole family uses it, even the younger kids. would be a great addition to anyones home gym.

We just got it. Althgough we have not see six-pack abs yet, we do feel it after our workouts. It was pretty easy to assemble and appears to be a solid piece of equipment. Don’t know that I would pay much more for this type of product, but we are hoping that what we paid for it, pays off in the long run.

I was unable to use the Ab Coaster because I am to tall for it. I am 6’1 180 lbs. and when I was using it my rib cage was hitting the arm rest. When I would lean back I couldn’t get it to move any. Also it put a lot of pressure on my lower back and I already have enough back pain as it is. If you are short then I can see the equipment working but not for tall people. Also when I put it together the frame was already bent some I guess it got like that during shipping because the box was a little beat up with holes in it.
Back to the old crunch style workouts.

I didn’t recieve the ‘gadget’ that goes into the middle section. I think they must have had problems with them, because there seems to be a shortage and they are only in some boxes. It really didn’t effect the way that it works, and honestly I am not in good enough shape that I can’t keep count. Be careful, if you do it correctly-you won’t feel like you have done enough…but you will feel it for a week! I am only up to 25 reps, but I felt it working after 10 reps. It is being used by my teenagers as well to train for sports. Even my very sinny 8 year old can do 10 reps easily. My only complaint is that it doesn’t seem to do much for the lower “pouch” some women get after pregnancy.

This product is perfect for targeting your abs. However, using this machine will not help get rid of the fat on top of your abs. Following a good nutrition and cardio will but this ab machine will for surely help strengthen your ab muscles which also benefits your back. One note though, I’am 200 lbs. and whenever I contract with this machine, the bar flexes. I wish they would improve and strengthen the steel of the bar. I hope it doesn’t break over time. I can’t afford the step up version of this machine.

harder than it looks! to get the results, you do not just “glide” as the informercial says. It really is like knee lifts. So far after several weeks I can really only do about 20-25 reps. My arms hurt in the beginning to do the right posture on this. So far no results but I can see it happening once I start becoming regular on this.
Too high priced, but hope it works.

I ordered the Ab Coaster from the Walmart website on Sunday night, it came on Tuesday. I used the cheapest delivery of 97 cents, no need to express it. It had all the parts including the counter. I used it the first day only & for the next 2 days I have had rib pain & the legs & arms hurt too. I only used it straight not side to side. Has anyone else gotten rib pain? I mean it hurts to sit up, stand, walk, etc. I am not overweight & do have muscles. It doesn’t seem to do a thing for the lower ab area only in the stomach in between the ribs. I mainly got it for my husband that is overweight in the gut. I sure hope it works for him at least! He has a abdomen hernia & can’t do sit ups. So far it doesn’t bother him, but he is 6’2″…maybe easier for the taller people? It should be half the price though. I have knee & neck, spine injuries, lower & upper & it doesn’t bother them. Cushions are comfortable.

This product arrived very quickly via Fedex which was a surprise. Well packaged and incredibly easy to assemble. I mean, if you can lift 30lbs and screw in a light bulb you can assemble this machine. I think all of like 12 bolts had to be screwed and bolted to put it together. I would recommend using your own real tools and not the cheap hunks of metal they give you. Once assembled I must say I’m very happy with it. Skip the training video…it’s the same thing over and over. Doesn’t give a workout routine or anything like that, your on your own. The only chapter you need to learn how to use it is like 30 seconds long. Gives a really good workout, but you have to do it right to target the abs. I must say I’m seeing some decent results after only 2 weeks. 3 stars on value because I think they are overcharging by $75 to $50. But it’s a unique machine that gives a great workout. Recommend!!!

Yes, you’re right…it’s expensive. That being said, it also WORKS!!!! I am loving my results that I’m getting from this machine! I DO recommend watching the instructional video clips on youtube, as they seem better than the one I received with the machine. I use it for just a few minutes about every other day and am getting results! They say you’re supposed to “rest” your muscles every other day, but I think I’m going to try using it more often. I don’t do a HUGE workout on it, just a few minutes…I also do Kettlenetics for overall fitness, but this machine BLASTS all the other kinds of ab workouts, I think! I LOVE IT!

I have only had this ab coaster for about a week. I ordered it and it never got shipped so had to reorder. I have not noticed any imporvements yet, but I felt the pain in my abs after I used it so it must be working. Was a little disappointed that this item does not come with weights at all. For $400 you would think it would. Those you have to purchase seperatley so all and all this item will cost more than $400! I think with continued use this prodcuct will eventually do it’s job!!

this is a great exerise machine. It works your abs arms. This does not bother your neck or lower back, but still works great on your abs and problem stomack areas. recommend to try this one.

While the product seems to work like to says, in the ad, it specifies that a “digital rep counter” is included. The wire to hook it up is there, but no digital counter. I was disappointed about that, as was my daughter, whom it was a gift to. When I contacted the AbCoaster customer service, they say that they no longer provide that. But the advertisement on Walmart.com says otherwise. Was just a little disappointed you didn’t really get what was advertised.

Been using this machine for about 3 weeks. I am allready seeing results. It takes a couple of days to get used to it, but it is definately working. I dont really feel it too much when I am using it, but after awhile you know you had a good ab workout. I researched ab machines for a couple of weeks, this one is a bit pricey, but it is working. Highly recommend it. Also recommend you purchase it from Walmart. I dont have anything nice to say about the Ab Pro people after dealing with them. Purchase through Walmart was 100 % easier.

Let me give you a little background. In March 2008 I was weighing about 280 lbs, damaged my lateral meniscus in my right knee from being too heavy, and had to have knee surgery at age 30. Furthermore, I had MRIs done on my back and it was determined that I had damaged/compressed lower discs, an unnatural straightened back (backs are supposed to be curved) and overstressed back muscles trying to compensate for the 54 inch waist. I was in physical therapy for months for my back. After all these health problems at a young age I decided to make a life change to get fit and lose weight and this machine helped me get to that point. My weight loss process has been slow and I started to see the commercials for these machines in the Fall of 2008. I always thought the price was too high, but at this point I was weighing about 243 lbs and still needed to strengthen my weakest part of my body, my stomach muscles which pretty much were never used for anything in my life other than for holding fat. At first I tried to get my YMCA to get the $1500 gym version of the machine, but no luck. So I took the plunge and for Christmas 2008 I decided to buy this since there was no way I could even do one sit-up or crunch because of my lower back.
Well the day I got the Abcoaster Pro was the day I took my fitness routine to the next level. The product is sturdy, durable, and well built. It was easy for an unfit guy like me to do these ab exercises compared to the ones that stress your back and neck. At first I was lucky if I could do even 5 minutes on this machine. Within weeks I noticed a substantial difference in my abdomen as my stomach started to take form. The inches started to come off, slowly mind you, but it was working. I didn’t think one of these infomercial products could work, but it did work. Eventually I got stronger and thus I took the plunge and started both spinning/cycling classes and cardio-kickboxing. Then came strength training with weights to boot-camp and now running.
This machine was the starter I needed. I pretty much was just riding the stationary bike, some rowing, some swimming and watching my diet (Weight Watchers) before I bought this. Believe me, for men (and women), I think most of us are self-conscious about our middle region. No matter how much shape we’re in, if we have a little belly we feel out of shape, and people do notice the belly that’s the society we live in.
Today I’m down to about 183 lbs, 6% body fat,and a healthy BMI. I’m a gym rat and a workout fiend. I think this machine is a good machine if you’ve ever had trouble doing any type of ab exercises. While I’m doing all kinds of different ab exercises today, I still use this machine routinely twice a week on the cardio-kickboxing class days.
So why did I give it four stars and not five stars?
1. Still a little pricey, but if you really use it, it’s worth it.
2. The ab rep counter is cheap and is damaged because it is located right where your sweat will drop on it.
3. The ball-bearings/wheels that the coaster rests on and moves with is starting to wear out from use and I’m not sure how much life this thing will have left and it’s not even a year old.
The bottom-line is this, if you need ab help and you have weak abs, then this machine is for you. It won’t stress your back or neck and can actually be fun if you set it up in front of the TV with your favorite show on.

The Ab Coaster is Great! It really works , I use it 3 to 6 times a week,, and my abs are getting more and more defined! I am happy and completely satisfied with this product, however it is a bit pricy $$. At least Wal-Mart helped by only charging me under $5 for shipping to my house! It weighs over 70 lbs and shipping would normally be high!

I’m not sure how I feel about this product? I use it everyday. I do between 200-300 reps on it everyday. My abs have not changed at all. I’ve been only use it for four weeks, but I expected to see a little change. I do cardio at least four times a week and have a balanced diet. I expected better results.
I don’t feel the burn in my abs like I would if I had actually did 200 or 300 sit-ups either. At this time, I would not recommend this product.

Seemed expensive, but understood why upon delivery…made of high quality steel that lines right up beside my Nordic track stair stepper and treadmill, without looking any cheaper or lower in quality. This is a quality product which is well constructed and has a clever functional design. It does have a learning curve which for me was made more difficult because it is not height-adjustable.
I am 6’5″ and my wife is 5’4″. We cannot not achieve the same position on the machine as the demo person (who appears to be 5’6″ or so) and so had to try (we are still trying) different variations on the recommended postion to get one that works. It would be better if the console and elbow rest were height-adjustable.
Never-the-less this motion is the only ab workout I have found that does not hurt my damaged lower vertebrae in my back and so I am sold.

to understand abs is to know no matter how hard you work them if fat is covering them you will never see them, never. cardio cardio cardio is the key. now if you are looking for an abs system that will strengthen your abs and support your back i recommend this product. it hits your upper, lower and side abs very well. no neck aches. the key is to change speeds and never let momentum take over. i go all the way up and half the way down forcing my abs to work. also change how many you do. i keep it between 200-500 and sets of 50 or 100 at a time with little rest. go 3-4days per 7days. feel the results and generally see the results as i have still some weight loss to go. oh, did not buy my unit here just here for info only.

This is everything that I thought it would be. It was easy for me to put together, alone. Doesn’t take a lot of time to do 50 “crunches”, which is what I am doing right now. You can tell almost immediately that it’s working. Was a bit pricey. Probably should sell for about $100 less.

I love this machine….was a bit hard to put one section together…you need someone to hold it up…and as far as the price….I have bought alot of machines…i have the total gym also…but this one in my opinion…could have been a hundred dollars cheeper…when your working out on the machine…you should know that your arms are going to be stressed and your back to…just do what’s comfortable for you…i only did 5 reps..my first day. I’ve had it for 12 days and i’m up to 25 reps…i do 100 and rest inbetween…

This thing works plain and simple. It takes a few times to get used to, but is very easy once you get use to it and has zero impact.
It is not cheap but worth the money, it is not a beginners product, you do not need to be in super shape but some exercise before would help. Dont think you are going to hop on this machine and your waist begin shrinking, it will take a diet with some cardio exercise.
I did not give it an excellent rating because the machine has some flex to it while in use, we have been using it for 3 weeks and are satisfied so far.

I received this product about 2.5 weeks ago. It was very quickly shipped and easily put together (I was able to do it without my husband’s help and with my 3 year old running around). Once assembled, I used it immediately with no problem. It is very easy and fun to use – even my 12 year old uses it just for kicks. That being said, you do “feel the burn” after a few reps. It even gets you breathing hard.
I am 34, have a genetic tendency to gain around the middle, have gone through 2 pregnancies – and if that’s not enough – both were c-section deliveries. No matter how much weight I lose, I always have the belly pooch. Sit ups on the floor are hard for me because I am a hygienist and we tend to have neck strain issues. I’ve tried everything through the years without success. This is my last option before a tummy tuck.
I have used this about 10 times in the last 2.5 weeks. (The manual says to always skip a day in between sessions- so with my work out scedule – that’s 3x/wk.) I do about 100 reps each time – 30 each side and 40 in the middle. It doesn’t take long at all for this many reps and it doesn’t hurt my neck. After each session, there is a noticeable difference. I am so excited about the results that I wish I could do it every day instead of skipping a day in between. I look forward to using my Ab Coaster.
You do have to work on form..finding the right position, speed and number of reps for you. I still get sore after the sessions – so I know it’s working. My clothes are already fitting better and my husband can definately tell a difference. It’s very pricey for me, but it works – so it’s worth it. I figure – it’s cheaper (and safer) than surgery. So far, I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone wanting a firmer tummy.

When I seen the abcoaster on the commercial for it, it looked too easy to use but let me tell ya, this thing works your abs so good, I’ve lost about 85 pounds over the last two years and I would like to lose about 20 more over time. My main concern was my tummy/whole core and I needed an exerciser to reallly target that whole area and this product does just that. I’ve had the abcoaster for about 2 weeks now and used it just about every day about 50 alternate reps a day, I’ve lost 3 more pounds and it really works ya. I recommend this product very highly for working the core..it is truly amazing and so helpful in all the right spots. I had just a small problem with sliding forward on the knee padded area, but I watch the dvd a couple a times to see just how to position myself on there and hold my tummy tight and lean my butt back towards my heels and that really helped. Thank you my beloved Walmart for offering this product, I purchased it on my new Walmart Discover card with no interest for a year, my hubby works for Walmart and I was able to get a discount also..thank you Walmart again…you all ROCK!!!

The ABCoaster took me about 30mins to assemble – pretty easy. It is well built. It works my abdominal area (as advertised); and also importantly keeps me off the floor. I hate exercising on the floor.
The down side of it is the cost. I don’t think it is worth $400 – perhaps $300. The other down side is that it is definitely not as easy as what you see on the infomercials or demos. This isn’t a child’s swing. There is a learning curve to using this piece of equipment effectively. Sitting on your legs as much as possible, top of feet pressed against back of knee pad, keep your back straight, and use your abdominal / thigh area to create your primary rocking motion. If you use your arms to pull you then you are really not working your abs effectively.
I am glad that I own and will definitely use it.
All those smiling people in the infomercials are definitely misleading – this isn’t a swing. The slower you go on this product the more benefit you gain from it. It will be interesting to see how things after a couple of months of usage – it does work – I can feel the burn.

Let’s get to the main point first: The thing is doing wonders for my stomach after just two weeks. It works really well.
It’s fairly quiet as there is no motors. Also as long as you do it right and don’t overwork your abs it is pretty low impact.
The downsides are the price, I strongly suggest using Walmart’s financing promotions to be able to afford this baby. It is worth the price no matter what but you can’t beat 0% interest.
Another downside is the weight and dimensions of the box (Not neccessarily the product!). It’s 73 pounds all together which makes for a terrible time loading and unloading the sucker from the store to your truck, and yes you’ll most likely need a truck or van. Once you get it where you want and unpackage the product, the weight goes down a fair bit. It’s in five pieces and the most heavy one is about 40 pounds. It’s the one with the seat attached. If you have problems with lifting, I’m pretty sure you can delegate this one.
As far as putting it together goes, its not too bad. 5 pieces and all the nuts and bolts are already where they should be so its a matter of following the 5 step instruction, unscrewing some of the bolts and reconnecting them with the pieces that fit. Some of the pieces are a little hard to hold together if you’re doing it by yourself so I recommend two people make it but I did manage to put it together by myself.
The slight downside is there is a little bit of a learning curve. It takes some effort to figure out how to use the product effectively. My suggestion is to try the position that you think the video is talking about for 10 reps (there is a counter). If your stomach isn’t tightening up, change your position slightly and try that for 10. It took me 3 slight position changes before figuring it out.
One major upside – It works better than anything than I’ve ever seen and it’s EASY. A few very easy to live with downsides that stop being downsides after one day. I”m pretty sure you won’t regret buying this.

Actually it coasts, but all kidding aside -
I have one and ran across it at the WalMart site to see make sure it’s not cheaper here – it’s not.
My first job was a Health Club instructor 30 years ago – played college ball…I am pretty obsessed with staying in shape. This is an absolute breakthrough product that is far superior to any core or ab machine to date for a couple of reasons:
1) It allows move sequencing and range of motion to target the greatest amount of core muscles compared to any other exercise. It sort of combines the hanging leg raise that all gymnasts and high level atheletes do exclusively with the standard crunch, but without stress strain and pressure on lower back (which by the way prevents the abs from being worked to failure)
2) It creates a slight decompression on the spine while in use, which actually helps the back.
3) There is lots of high level press and other excellent reviews to back mine up at their website. Including the 2008 FIBO award – an International fitness consortium that rates nearly ALL new products every year.
Anyway – it is not often that a product of this caliber and innovation hits the market – I say “BUY”!!!

We procured an Ab Coaster for the workout area at our clubhouse. We are very pleased with the unit. It does produce quick results as advertixed. It is sturdy and well made and has the full range of electronic counters, timers, etc. Everyone who has used it is agrees that it is a worthwhile addition to our workout equipment.
